The Challenge
We helped Ejner Hessel migrate 108 fragmented databases into a single source of truth – saving 125 hours of daily manual work and opening new doors for digital growth. Ejner Hessel’s rapid growth had outpaced its internal IT department. It was time to rethink and modernize the infrastructure to match the scale of the business.
Our Approach
The goal was to unify the company’s data landscape and make it easier for employees to access, understand, and use data across departments, enabling smarter work and scalable operations. We mapped every data source, from Daimler APIs to encrypted USB keys from Renault, and consolidated it all into one central platform. We then built a company-wide API and created tools like a digital equipment library for workshops to share specialized gear.

Data came from scattered and inconsistent sources, and many workflows were manual. By working closely with Hessel’s internal teams, we ensured the tech solution also aligned with real business needs and everyday operations.
Results
The solution saves Ejner Hessel 14 full-time equivalents and enables more efficient cross-departmental collaboration. At the same time, it has opened up new digital services – such as real-time updates of inventory data on hessel.dk and increased garage productivity through smart tool sharing.
