A podcast that makes you smarter about your money

Take the best articles financial experts write for their websites. Get a crisp voice to read them aloud, add a good jingle, and publish them as a podcast. That is the whole idea behind Alt om penge ("All about money"), a podcast that helps you understand, spend, scrimp, save and invest your money.

The man behind the idea is Morten Münster, who was already in the Danish top 20 with his podcast Adfærd ("Behaviour") and so knew a thing or two about building an audience. We helped Morten and his team design and build a platform for the podcast.

Spreaker is good at distribution, not at design

A podcast has to be hosted somewhere. You can do it yourself, but for most people it is not worth the bother when there are good, cheap providers that specialise in exactly that. One of them is Spreaker, where a single click distributes your podcast to iTunes, Spotify, Android and the other big services.

Spreaker's own player, on the other hand, is nothing to write home about. It is a little hard on the eyes, and the options for branding it and owning the user journey are limited. It is fine for the hobby podcaster, but not for a professional show.

How the podcast got a home of its own

A site of its own on Spreaker's API

For professionals, Spreaker offers an API you can build your very own podcast site on. That is exactly what we did. Spreaker handled hosting and distribution, while listeners met Alt om penge's own design. The platform launched at altomx.dk.

No CMS to look after

We had no need to add a CMS, because all the content was managed directly in Spreaker. That made the solution light, robust and close to maintenance free.

Vue.js on Netlify

For those of you interested in the tech: the application is written in Vue.js and was hosted on Netlify. That made it lightning fast and let us build and deploy straight from Git.
