A more modern and coherent digital experience
Lungeforeningen wanted to give their members a more modern and coherent digital experience. Membership data, payments, newsletters, and local branch information were spread across several systems, creating unnecessary support requests and making it difficult for both members and local branches to get an overview. They needed a unified member space that could support members, volunteers, and local boards within a single solution.
Rapid AI prototyping accelerated iteration
Together with Lungeforeningen we set out to create a secure, intuitive member portal that enables members to manage key tasks independently - from contact details and membership fees to newsletter preferences and local networks - while giving volunteers and local chairs better tools for their daily work. The goal was increased self-service, fewer manual inquiries, and a stronger digital connection between central systems and local activities. Abtion designed the solution around three role-based views - member, volunteer, and local chair - connected to Lungeforeningen's CRM via a secure login. We used bolt.new for rapid AI prototyping, and designed directly in code, accelerating iteration and enabling large parts of the design output to be reused in the final implementation.

The solution
Aligning simultaneous technical tracks
A key challenge was turning complex membership and payment data into simple, trustworthy user flows. At the same time, Lungeforeningen was rolling out a new CRM, and several of the planned integrations were evolving in parallel with the project. To reduce ambiguity and avoid misunderstandings, we invited the client’s other technology partner into our standups, so technical questions, priorities, and integration details could be clarified directly together. This closer collaboration helped keep the solution on track and aligned across all parties.
Increased self-service and transparency
In just one month of active work, we utilised AI to deliver the new member portal to Lungeforeningen. We were able to reuse the majority of the design output from bolt.new, and the AI generated code served as the foundation for the development. After a detailed code review, our developers built upon the foundation instead of starting from scratch. This enabled us to deliver an otherwise costly solution in record time. The portal has increased self-service and transparency for both members and the organisation, while reducing the number of manual inquiries to the association’s central office. It gives users a single place to manage their entire membership, from address changes and newsletter preferences to full overview of fees and SKAT-reported amounts. It helps volunteers quickly find information on local events, and local chairs can easily access updated membership lists for their branch.
